Wait. This IS an advertisement, right?

I was resistant until the girl showed up in her school uniform, then I started sniffling. Damn you, Thai advertising agency for messing with my emotions.

My emotions have been successfully manipulated!

Oh boy, yeah. The girl in the school uniform did it for me, too. I was even warned by articseal and still I teared up! Well done. Also, the chicken made me hungry, but I don't think that was the goal....

okay but the plant is getting over-watered

Will no one think of the plant?!

Reminded me, weirdly, of Chungking Express, if that makes any sense.

even though I don't live in Thailand OR have a life.

I didn't understand a word of that, did I? I was alternately melting and worrying about giving chicken bones to the dog. Very well done!

Suckers.

For some reason, Thai life insurance ads are great. I like the cockroach ones.

It's a refreshing contrast to American insurance ads, where the point is to scare the crap out of you and give you a case of free-floating anxiety bad enough to ruin your night's sleep. But do it cheerfully and "humorously" to make it less clear how badly you're being manipulated.

if it's not raining, where is that water coming from?

It' s all nice and good, except feeding cooked Chicken bones to dogs!

Pretty fair Thai reboot of Groundhog Day.

Thai-life blue (even the text screen is blue)!

But as an ad, fairly decent.

Seems like there has been a concerted push back to negativity lately. It can be very over-the-top (a la up worthy), but I kinda think we need it sometimes.

A note about dogs eating cooked chicken bones. In most countries, street dogs are lucky/grateful for whatever food they find. However, in Thailand...

...chicken bones are the least of a dog's worries.

Tears!

Is every Thai insurance ad like this? I thought I could resist the pull on the Mai Toi one because it started out so awkwardly, but no. It's like a tractor beam for saltwater.

This should come with a trigger warning to those of us who are teary and with a Sunday morning hangover. The little girl in the uniform? Niagra Falls. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go and give bananas to an old lady...

I am bawling.

Is the Mai Toi one real, or are they just actors? Either way, that's some truly expert heart string tugging. We need some of that here in the Land of the Free.
