So you can get 4096 in 2048, and you're an old hand at Flappy Bird, but can you beat... Flappy48? (requires unity)
oh god oh god
(One of my coworkers said "flappy bird was cancelled, I got to 2048... am... am I free?")

For those of you curious about this but unable to install Unity, I found this GIF on reddit's /r/IndieGaming.

To clarify the snark: I think my high score on Flappy bird was 15. I tried this version 6 times and didn't make it past the first pillar. I suck. And I hate this game.

This game is a complete ripoff of Piou Piou vs. Threes.

There's a button at the bottom to support the game, but I kind of wish there was a button that did the opposite.

The timing of this is just enough off of Flappy Bird that it will ruin you for both; kind of like when tennis players get their swing screwed up by racquetball & squash.

I'm not good at either Flappy Bird or 2048. I'm pretty sure that means those will cancel each other out and I will be a genius at this game.

I'm starting to get the feeling that all the web-based games are moving inexorably toward congealing into one T-1000-like monster that will devour us all.

For me, it behaves VERY differently with the mouse button and the spacebar. Was a lot easier with the small arcs created by the mouse.

Yeah, well, Unity can bite me for not offering a Linux based web player.
Despite the fact Unity works under Linux.

But didn't we just have an FPP about how practicing two somewhat related skills makes you a master much much faster than just practicing the same skill for 10,000 hours?

Ha, whenever I close my eyes and think "come up with a video game idea that is really simple and you can do it in a weekend and make money!!!" it looks something like a sliding puzzle game or tetris.

2048 has totally filled a void for me- I'd been looking for something I could play in tiny bursts, pull my droid out, spend a few seconds to a few minutes on, put away, and not care about past that. I kind of love it for that. After a few hours' play the strategy becomes second nature, and you can just sort of stop and go at will.

Seperate from that and flappy48, there's also Flappy 2048, which should work just fine in your favourite browser.
Semantic satiation (also semantic saturation) is a psychological phenomenon in which repetition causes a word or phrase to temporarily lose meaning for the listener, who then processes the speech as repeated meaningless sounds.
