Rob Ford will be taking a 30 day leave to deal with issues

So there's now a crack video for sale that was allegedly recorded last Saturday. The Globe & Mail has a screen cap. Oh, and Rob Ford was recorded saying some pretty ugly things about his wife and one of his mayoral competitors in a bar on Monday night. Can this all just stop now, Rob, for everyone's sake?

Ah beat me to it!

Here is audio of Dennis Morris, Ford's lawyer, confirming that he's taking a leave, although with very few details. Frankly Morris sounds like he hasn't been told anything.

No, it isn't. There's audio up on the Sun site now. Apparently Ford said that he couldn't vote for Hudak. That may rock some of his supporters more than what he said about his wife or Stintz.

And yet Torontonians will still vote for this specimen. What the fuck, Toronto?

Those two articles suggest he's taking a break from his campaign...

This event falls under a particular category of "Proper" known as "High Time."

Maudlin, where did you see that he's taking a 30-day leave? I haven't been able to see anyone confirming how long he's going.

Sorry, yes, his statements are about leave from the campaign. But can someone go to 30 days of rehab without going on some kind of leave from work? He's not resigning ... yet.

Lemurrhea, most of my info is from radio and twitter now. Here's the NatPost:
The lawyer for Toronto Mayor Rob Ford says Ford will take a leave of absence to seek help for substance abuse. This came the same evening that reports of two new videos of Ford surfaced, one of the Mayor reportedly making crude comments about a fellow candidate and another of him apparently smoking something that looked like crack-cocaine.

The news that Ford was “ready to take a break” first came from the Toronto Sun. The paper said the break will last 30 days.

Dennis Morris, Ford’s lawyer, said Wednesday night that Ford acknowledges he has a substance abuse problem and he wants to do something about it.

Hasn't he already been stripped of basically all duties they could find to strip him of?

Thanks maudlin. Interesting that the Sun itself doesn't seem to be saying it. Not a big deal either way, it'll come out later.

Love that 1010 is like "we have audio, but we can't air it until we clean it up". This is quick-breaking!

a new raunchy audio recording of Ford ranting and swearing in an Etobicoke bar.

Not sure what an Etobi is, but that fella ought to stay out of coke bars.
