Whose career would you rather have: Jordan's or Abdul-Jabbar's?

The caveat is that everything off the court would be the same. Growing up in the Jordan mass-marketing era made me thing that he was the best player who has ever lived until I heard about Bill Russell's 11 championships in 13 years.

On the court, both had ridiculous natural gifts. Tie. The difference? Jordan's unrelenting desire to win. So, Jordan.

Kind of on the court: Jordan got Phil Jackson, an incredible coach who assigned reading specific to each of his players. A zen master. Pat Riley for Kareem. I say Jordan wins that round. Until you look back at college. Say what you want about Dean Smith, John Wooden is legendarily wise and 4 years of college with John Wooden might have made the difference for Kareem. I'd take Kareem's career here.

In the court of movie reviews: "Airplane" beats "SpaceJam" 100 times out of 100. No contest.

Kareem 2, Jordan 1
