Nice, except for those ad strips on the bottom of every photo, which seems to be a New Thing. Good grief.

Happy Birthday, Metafilter's Own Thomas Pynchon! (He could be, how do you know he's not?)

Happy birthday, Mr. Pynchon. You've blended my brain like nobody else. Can't wait for the first ever film adaptation of your work to be released this December! If anyone can pull it off, PTA is the man!

That Pirate Prentice banana breakfast chart is great!

In other news, Thomas Pynchon's middle name is Ruggles. Just one of those things I think everyone ought to know.

No single modern author has impressed me as much as Thomas Pynchon, other than David Foster Wallace.

However, no single modern author has infuriated me as much as Thomas Pynchon, except for David Foster Wallace.

And for that I love them both dearly.

Happy birthday Mr Pynchon, long may you continue. It is with sadness that I will never be ever be able to wish the same to Mr Wallace.

Goddamn, you must bear some influence -- I just hit the site today and they've redesigned and it looks better than ever.

I won't claim credit but indeed, they've removed the ads. (Thanks, Biblioklept!) It's a Wordpress site, using Illustratr theme. The ads must have been some whacky plugin they tried out.
