One Bucket, One Dog

No one loves his bucket more than Charlie This is my bucket. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My bucket is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. My bucket, without me, is useless. Without my bucket, I am useless. I must run with my bucket . I must with my bucket, be better than my enemy who has another bucket. My bucket is a dog, even as I am a dog, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its roundness and its red color. I will keep my bucket clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will...Before God, I swear this creed. My bucket and I are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our yard and the yard with the cat next door. We are the saviors of my life . So be it, until victory is ours and there is no enemy, but peace!

The edit job and the music delights me so much. But I am not as happy as that dog with his bucket.

I got a puppy a week ago. He found a bucket in my backyard. It is now his favorite toy. Good to know there are other dogs out there like him. But there is no bucket like his, for it is his bucket.

I responded back, "Dog is helping bear get apples."

And you know the bear needs all the apple-getting help he can get!

I love the shot at the end where he's just standing by his bucket, all happy and proud, like "This is the best and it will never not be the best!"

We all deserve to find our bucket.

Don't tell Charcoal, but that bucket has a teeny hole in the bottom.

Brings back almost forgotten memories of my childhood dog, a schnauzer who loved her jug. Mum cut off the bottom and top of an old plastic jug and the dog would carry it around by the handle everywhere for a couple of months. She was also convinced that when she couldn't see you, you couldn't see her. So she'd lay down with her head in the jug waiting for me to walk past. As soon as I'd get close, she'd pop her head out of the far end with the "rawr! I get U!" puppy ferociousness, and then she'd actually laugh about it. All smiles and teeth and cuddles.

maryr: They never play with the toys you buy them...

My dog would expertly perform surgery on any squeaky toy I bought him to remove the squeaker, which he would then toss and catch, drop and bark at, hide in his blanket and search for, and finally bring it to me for the coup-de-grace: chasing it after I toss it a few feet away.

Then, because he is a carnivore, no matter how gently he tossed and caught it, etc.... it would die. One day, two, maybe three, but then the valve would get chewed out (which he can't).

So, for Christmas this year I bought him a sack of 100 squeakers, so he would always have a fresh one to play with.

You know the unwritten last line of this story.
