Three RCMP officers have been killed in Moncton, New Brunswick, and two others wounded. The shooter, 24-year-old Justin Bourque, is still on the loose. Police are asking people to stop sharing details about the manhunt on social media, as they fear the killer may be monitoring social media. The hashtags #monctonshooting and #prayformoncton are trending internationally and contain a number of photos of the shooter in action.

The CBC is running a livestream of news coverage. People are already poring over the suspect's Facebook page. There are videos circulating of the shooting, including one in which witnesses film an officer being shot.

This shooting will remind Canadians of the Mayerthorpe shootings, where James Roszko killed four Mounties on his farm.
