In small cases, you may not see a problem, but in extreme cases, it could lead to the destruction of the state and the suffering of state members in lieu of non-members.And in Australia's case we're nowhere near the "destruction of the state" or even the suffering of members of our state. The fact that this is even an issue now in our country, compared to the bipartisan support for refugees in the 1970's, says something very very sad about the state of this country.

If they arrive illegally they should expect to be subject to the process of being detained until their status is determined.
