He took it gingerly and carried it to one of his preferred spots, set it down, and operated on it very much like Atka, although a bit more quickly. He got a small window opened up and licked the egg out, just like she did. Then after thinking about it for a minute he went ahead and crunched up the shell, too.

I hope you have enjoyed this report on canine-egg interactions.

My dogs do that. profile pic The smart one figured out that it was tidier and faster if he just cruches the whole egg in his mouth and swallows/licks furiously. The dumb one still just nibbles at the egg like the wolf.
