2:22 min of extreme silliness from Robot Chicken, voiced by Chris Pine and tweeted by the Captain himself: there is no justification for this except to paaaaarty!

Sigh. Partying is indeed futile.

Sadly, none of the mod team is bald, so there will never be a MetaFilter "Do you want us to wake up the bald guy?" moment.

It would be funnier if it were poking fun at a series that was still as morally serious as "The Enemy Within" and not a goof-off franchise with Beastie Boys songs every installment.

My first job was working the graveyard shift at Kinko's. The best kind of folk work graveyard shift. One time we had a rush digital job that came in over night for programs for a funeral. The only machine that could do the digital printing and the stitching was out of toner. There was none left in the store.

So, we took a toner cartridge from another machine, made a paper funnel and loaded in the foreign toner. Worked like a charm and saved the day for a family in distress.

A few days later, I was finishing up my shift and one of the copier repair folks had been called and had this perplexed look on his face. He turns and confides to me, "it's the weirdest thing. I don't know how they did it, but someone loaded this copier with the wrong polarity toner."

"Wow, that's bizarre," I said.

I imagine that night-shift Geordi and day-shift Geordi have had many similar exchanges.

I worked overnights for years and this was pretty much my experience. I still remember many stories we never told our bosses, like the many chair jousts in the hall. The shenanigans we got up to were amazing. I suspect our bosses knew but didn't care since we kept our shift on lock and actually got our work done.

...And this is exactly why there desperately needs to be a new TV series. Where the hell is captain worf? what happened to that?

toner polarity

I was sure you were making this up (since every problem in Star Trek is fixed by reversing the polarity of something) but nope. It's a real thing.

Skwirl: ""someone loaded this copier with the wrong polarity toner.""

Reverse the tachyon toner beam.

Matt is actually bald, but he wears a merkin.

Merkins go a bit, um, lower...

It's a space merkin. With anti-grav.

/Also Commander La Freak needs more screen time. Possibly played by either Kid or Play.
