For me, the standard in novelty covers of Royals was set by the"Sad Clown With the Golden Voice" version.

I don't know what you call that sound that the cup makes when it's spinning around before coming to rest, but using it as percussion was pretty clever.

Daaaaaang. As someone still kind of new to making music on a piano and guitar, holy shit I can't believe how tough it is to sing, play something in time, and do both those things well at the same time. Basically what she did in this video is amazing and super difficult, that was really great (also love she started with outtakes).
