This post was deleted for the following reason: This is both a commentary on political fundraising, and an actual active fundraiser, so unfortunately it violates the "no active fundraisers" guideline. -- LobsterMitten
Good commentary, but still should have a few guns and bibles.

should have a few guns and bibles
One thing I think this group is trying to do is remain entirely neutral about political issues and just point to the rotten core of the democratic process itself. Which is legit: American politics is deeply divided on so-called social issues, and some of them are very very important and worth fighting for (like a woman's right to her body). But we seem basically to be in overwhelming agreement that big business is king and should be supported at all costs, no matter what. Both sides of the aisle have been totally co-opted by the money-faucet. Sure, some, like say Paul Ryan, think the money-faucet should be a money Tsunami. But even Obama's policies are more pro-business than Ronald Reagan's were. Point being: guns and bibles would paint this as a lefty-thing to do, when what it really is is about preserving the basic structures of democracy, whose foundations now are moldy, rotting things, full of holes and rodent droppings.
