And Ashcroft too, as the article notes. On what basis do they object? "Against the national interest" -- what does that mean? Is this all because the DoJ doesn't want to admit a mistake?

No - it's because the DoJ doesn't want to own up to 30 years of prosecutorial misconduct.

That's not a mistake, that's perfidy.
