After the birth of our first child in 2012, my wife and I looked at our lifestyle and decided we just didn’t feel safe getting out on the roads anymore now that we had our little guy. But we still loved road cycling and certainly didn’t want to give it up.
Cycling in America is often unsafe, not to say downright dangerous. Luckily this plucky Texan couple found the perfect and quintessentially American solution.

I found that existing safety-enhancing solutions cater to bicycle commuters and leisure cyclists. They are failing the vast majority (90%) who are fitness-oriented road cyclists like myself.

Weird. Is he saying that 90% of cyclists are "fitness-based road cyclists" rather than commuters? I would have guessed the figures would be closer to the other way around: 90% commuters/everyday cyclists, 10% spandex guys.

Problem: Cycling is unsafe because of cars on the road.
Solution: MOAR CARS

Yep, quintessentially American.

What a friggin' terrible idea. Now instead of having to find a way to safely pass bikes on my 50 MPH roads with few passing zones, I have to factor in a car going just as slow...

/lives on a popular biking route near a major university...you figure out how much of a problem this could be....
