A study found that females account for 60% of arts graduates, but only 46% of all working artists (among other worrisome statistics).
"Artists Report Back: A National Study on the Lives of Arts Graduates and Working Artists" is a study conducted BFAMFAPhD, a collective of artists working to better understand the rising cost of artistry.
Through the analysis of 2012 Census Bureau data and a survey of more than 1.4 million people whose primary earnings come from working as an artist, represents a “broad population of creative types” within the United States, they found some troubling statistics.
Among them was that females account for 60% of arts graduates, but only 46% of all working artists.
The gender gap is everywhere, and it’s worrying the shit out of me.
