Drudge clone Mens News Daily, has vowed to challenge the drudgereport in this Washington Times article. Politics set aside, with hundreds of other second rate "drudge wannabe" breaking news sites like OnlineWorldNews , Aheadnews, ultra-news, etc etc. when does it stop? How much breaking news do we really need. The news can only break so many ways, no?

The funny thing about all of these Drudge clones is how they also clone his atrocious design style. Even BuzzFlash, the self-proclaimed anti-Drudge Report, is unspeakably hideous. These sites look like they get paid by the hyperlink.

The publisher of Men's News Daily has been after me to link him on my Drudge parody. I'm impressed that he got a writeup in the Times, even though as he told the reporter, the site only gets 1,000 hits a day at this point.

Rabbit has a point. Even though these sites are probably just right for certain selected individuals, they're not exactly the hottest stuff out there. Looks like it's time to post some of the links that reference librarians use to help people locate higher quality news sources.

I just got an e-mail from the publisher of Men's News Daily. He found this discussion, and he's now after me to clarify that he's not getting 1,000 hits a day. More like 80,000.

These baby Drudges are a determined bunch.
