Run the Jewels Redux

Killer Mike and El-P have dropped their latest Run the Jewels album just in time for the weekend. A follow up to last year's widely acclaimed Run the Jewels (previously), it is, like its predecessor, free for the price of your email address. There's no word on when the promised Meow the Jewels project will materialize, but you can still donate if you are so inclined.

I am listening to RTJ2 right now and it. Is. Amazing. Outdoes the debut by an order of magnitude. Wow. I pity those other sucker MCs who think they made the album of the year.

You might want to ask the mods to remove the kickstarter link since the fundraising is still active.

Am I violating some kind of site policy? I'm certainly not shilling for the project. I just felt I would be remiss in not mentioning it. If I've inadvertently stepped out of line, I apologize.

Ooh yeah, very excited by this. The first one was the album that made me realize how far rap's gone downhill over the past 4-5 years -- there was nothing else I heard that could even approach it.

Anyone have other suggestions for great rap albums from the 2010s? (commercial or otherwise). I'll just throw out a few out there: Freddie Gibbs, the Mayday/Murs collaboration, and Shabazz Palaces.
