I was imagining it to be a single-serving website with a button that asks "Should I work for free?" and the only answer would be "NO!" but I'm actually glad to see it's more nuanced than that.

I like that they have a swear free version (presumably so you can print it out and post in the office/school/local physical bulletin board). I appreciate both the swearing and the understanding that it might not be appropriate to swear in certain contexts.

Also, a great flowchart, I too was expecting all roads to lead to 'no'.

Even with two monitors, the design was painful.

I've worked for free with the understanding that it was a learning experience for me, and that the organization was deriving some benefit from my labors. It was a volunteer gig.

I also had an internship at a really awesome museum when I was 19. It was the best summer of my life, and yes, having it on my resume opened lots of doors. I'd do it again in a heartbeat, whether they paid me or not.

Yeah, I predicted it would have two branches: the mom branch, and NO. But it's actually very reasonable.

From the chart:

"Are you good friends ifyouknowwhatImean" -> yes/no -> No, you're no prostitute"

I think saying yes on that one would make you the equivalent of a john, not a prostitute.

It strikes me that if there's no payment, there's no contract, and in that case you can just drop them and disappear at any moment, immediately before the deadline perhaps. In fact, perhaps you should, just to suggest to people that next time they ought to have a contract and pay people.
