This made me laugh more than I expected. Thanks for this. The bit about the odds that the same Jedi would destroy the base twice was the best.

Despite loving Star Wars like every other kid of my generation, I've been a Star Wars hater for a long time. The prequels really burned me. But the deLucasification of the franchise gives me enough hope that I'm really softeneing. And having a kid who's getting to that age makes me much more amenable to the entire SW universe.

My secret hope is that they manage a Marvel-like level of quality in their next incarnation.

About a minute too long, but still pretty great. And maybe this is just my jaundiced eye, but it's also one of the rare internet parodies that respects the lyrical sounds and prosody of the original. Respect.

Also I was debating this morning whether "All About That Bass" or "Shake It Off" would be my Official Jam of 2014.

I kind of like the title

It's not a bad title, but it makes me wonder - has the Force been having a nap? Was the whole Sith extermination of the Jedi kinda a little dream that the Force was having? Will it wake up cranky?

Star Wars: The Force Awakens: Origins

It's going to be about the Rebel Alliance racing to contain a virulent midichlorian outbreak.

Eh. I get that scantily clad is what they do, but couldn't they at least have made the cheerleaders Twi'leks or something?

Were they on the Death Star? Crypto-Fascist.

Taking that title seriously though, given the mysterious nature of the midichlorians, a Blood Music set in the Star Wars world, which went as weird and dark as Bear takes it, would be pretty cool.

Getting back to the video for a second - was anyone else disappointed by the lack of scantily clad astromech droids?

It's important, when parodying a song praising the beauty of women who don't look like models, to use only women who look like models. Goofy looking dudes are fine, of course.

Yeah that tweaked my brain as well. It's the same type of brain tweak when a self-proclaimed patriot screams out lyrics to Born in the USA.

If you want to really get annoyed, look up their "Geek and Gamer Girls" parody of "California Girls".

I realllllllllllllllly don't like Team Unicorn.
