Cannon Films Presents: Captain America: The Winter Soldier [via]

Oh, and here's a NSFW trailer for Electric Boogaloo - The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films, the latest documentary from Mark Hartley, director of Not Quite Hollywood (NSFW) and Machete Maidens Unleashed!

Uh, and if you're going to use English, you'd better make sure that you don't create singular/plural inconsistencies in your tag lines.

"If you're going to make enemies, you'd better make sure they're not...AMERICAS."

So much better.

Wow, these are awesome!

I particularly appreciate the inclusion of the Wilhelm Scream in the Winter Solider trailer.

Omg omg omg

Also it's like 75% Robocop clips by volume but that's okay

Yeah, especially at the beginning. My only complaint.

I have a feeling this entire idea was based around getting the narrator voice right.

And it is perfect.

The only good use of Robocop was pairing the cameras watching the councilman's defenestration being paired with William Atherton's "Please tell me you got that." All the other Robocop footage is too iconic.

The fake VCR noise was required, but the clipped audio really sold it.

There's Dredd in the Robocop.

I always say it's a timelost 80s action movie.

AH HA HA HA HA. Excellent use of Lucas Lee.

But about 60 seconds too long.

It's okay, that happens to everyone.

I wanted to like the WS trailer more than I did. :/

That said, anyone with a taste for this sort of thing and an appreciation for video games has GOT to check out the Blood Dragon stand-alone built off the Far Cry 3 game. It was all the '80s-tastic sci-fi adventure humor I could possibly hope for. Voiced by Michael Biehn to boot!

Blood Dragon is great, and so is its score.

The real thing is way, way worse.

While I applaud the efforts of the video remixers here, I agree with Sys Rq: The very real, very dumb Matt Salinger Captain America movie makes the existence of a fake '80s action-cheese trailer a bit unnecessary.

Coincidentally, the company behind Cap '90, 21st Century Films (not to be confused w/ 20th Century Fox), was sort of the sister studio to Cannon. When Menahem Golan jumped ship from Cannon in 1989, he landed as head of 21st Century, and the rest is history.

Never mind your Matt Salinger; for true cheesetasticity, you want your Reb Brown and his amazing see-thru shield. Heck, they even did a sequel with a more comics-accurate costume, plus Christopher Lee!

In case anybody doesn't know, Matt Salinger of the 90s Captain America is J.D. Salinger's son.

Fun idea, and I liked the voiceover and the way the actual CA: TWS footage was dirtied up. But I'd agree with those who say there's too much obvious Robocop, and that it's a little long. Another pass through editing could probably fix both of those issues, though.

Best part: in the tiny type at the end this was billed as a SAMUEL L BRONKOWITZ production

Was not expecting Cillian Murphy's Scarecrow to show up in this! Speaking of cheekbones.

I'm pretty sure the "please tell me you got that" is from Die Hard, not Robocop.

demonic winged headgear, that's what I liked about it--the cut juxtaposed Robocop with clearly-not-Robocop (the Atherton clip) in a new and delightfully entertaining way.
