Listen to all new updated to the English Wikipedia Stephen LaPorte and Mahmoud Hashemi have built a pretty cool site. It assigns tones to new edits to Wikipedia.org and plays them for you in a live stream. Soothing AND informative.

That's pretty amazing... Interesting concept as to how the tones are chosen (read the "about" to understand)...

This could easily become my background ambient sound machine....

It's neat - for about 2-3 minutes, and then it sounds like the CPU fan is trying to tear itself out of my computer.

Are the tones determined by some sort of algorithm or are they just arbitrary?
