Chuck Bowden's final story,16 years in the making, is a fascinating 3 part read in to the torture and murder of DEA agent Enrique Camarena in 1985. [Part 1][Part 2][Part 3]

Go ahead and set aside an hour or so to read this.

Fascinating perhaps, but torture is also profoundly disturbing.

Sorry, I should've mentioned in the title about the torture being a decent part of the story and how horrific it was(and these articles describe them in great detail). I guess I was more fascinated by muddy waters that is the war against drugs.

Well, that was utterly devastating.

I'm not sure whether I should thank you for giving me the opportunity to read that or not. Good grief.

Powerful read, thank you! An explosive story that needs to be heard, but interesting how even here few seem to want to discuss it...

I can't believe this only gained a handful of comments. But, I guess, what is there to say? These things happened but there's no resolution, nobody wins. The story just peters out in the face of massive disinterest.

Not so much disinterest as active suppression by authority.
