Overall I liked it a lot, but I did think the robot/spaceman was too expressive in his movements. More deadpan might have worked even better.

OK, first of all, just because I had to look it up myself: Michael Shanks isn't "Daniel Jackson" Michael Shanks, it's this guy Michael Shanks.

Second, I second the notion of this being a kick-ass indie game mechanic (and some parts of the idea were used in 2010's game Singularity). What's Jonathan Blow doing right now?

Aspects of this sort of mechanic were used in The Wii Zelda game Skyward Sword.
