The return of Trax sneakers might be a strategic way for Kmart to come back to life. Same goes for Pony. If Candies could do it . . .

Hot damn!

I remember Trax from my childhood when they were basically the closest thing grade school had to a scarlet letter. There really wasn't a more damning insult than one that made a link between your preferred footwear and a pair of velcro-stripped Trax.

Which means they'll be probably be huge...

I was thinking KangaRoos before I even opened the comments, I have been looking for a place to keep my lunch money now that I'm a big boy.

Zips are good, but Velcro is great!

I don't think that Trax were as likely to make one a pariah as Toughskins jeans, at least at my elementary school.

Parachute Pants! Let's regurgitate 'em to the youth of today, then sit back and watch the hilarity ensue.

(Hmm... maybe now I can afford the purple ones? Back in the day, Chess King was selling them for $75 ... a little too rich for my blood.)

everyone at my school had toughskins. the pariahs [like me] were the ones with too many of those crazy toughskin patches, usually a different color. went great with my knock-off porsche shiny silver jacket.

One year, at my school, it was bell-bottom jeans.

The next year it was boot cut. And I hadn't gotten the memo.

Kids are mean.
