This is great! More reasons to buy a few more copies of CAH for Christmas gifts.

This was a great idea, but the printouts had some QC issues -- mine accused Sen. Debbie Stabenow of receiving more than $1M from a conservative super-PAC that in fact spent that $1M (and virtually no other money) on anti-Stabenow ads in the last cycle.

I'll make sure to read it while I kick back in my 1 sq ft homestead on Hawaii 2.

OK, I will just link back to the last thread and people can make up their own minds about this product & campaign

I'm up for the Hawaii 2 meet-up.
My wife and I got this as a lark, but she insisted on tearing up and throwing out one of the first things we got, which predicted my death this calendar year. Can't say I blame her.

I loved that they sent out these disclosures. That, and their Black Friday offering was amazing. Something like 30,000 bought that! I think it was also the best way to outdo what they did last year, which was some of the most impressive marketing I've ever seen.

I already knew Bob Corker was a son of a bitch shill, I didn't need the printout to confirm it.

I'm in love with the idea of this, but (for us) the execution this year has sucked. I got this to be mailed to my husband, and I think we've only gotten (so far) the thing SSoCI's wife tore up, the comix, the disclosure, and possibly one more thing. And, since it was a surprise, and the first thing my husband got was the disclosure, he was puzzled (to say the least). CAH's customer service has just sort of shrugged about it, too, (saying, basically, get back to us on January 1st if you didn't get everything) which hasn't helped me feel any better. We have not gotten most of the cards, the Slap .45 game, the stickers, the berries, or Hawaii 2. It doesn't help that my husband is now constantly seeing reports from the internet about the cool stuff that other people are getting.

Also, I can't let my son get the mail anymore because the envelope art (justifiably) freaked him out.

I feel like an oldster griping about this, because the package is so cool and I like CaH in general, but c'mon people - I did pay for this.

I have a specific loathing for CaH as a game, but I seem to have suddenly developed a specific love for CaH as a company.

Last year's CAH "Holiday Bullshit" packages included a note saying they gave some of my money to charity (schools through DonorChoose.org) rather than printing cards with it, and fuck you if you don't like it, which made me want to hug them all. I was therefore really looking forward to what they'd do with my money this year.

I am, as usual, very pleased with my Holiday Bullshit and CAH in general. I love this game. I love this company. And I love what they did this year.

Yeah, it feels like they are walking a fine line. Like they want it to just be "it's fun, whatever, what shows up shows up, blame the USPS," but then it is $15. And if some of the days are awesome, and some are meh, then people will be really annoyed if they don't get the awesome days.

Also, I think the only one I didn't receive was the one this post is about.

Perhaps instead of complaining about poor customer service during a tiny company's $15 "Holiday Bullshit" promotion, coinciding with the most hectic mailing period of the year, you should just stick to ordering tea kettles from Amazon.

I guess? I mean, if they are sending out cool shit, and the USPS is throwing them in a gutter, I think everyone is losing.

(And I have another friend who bought it as a gift for his girlfriend, and *none* of the packages showed up, and COH just says "check back in January." Would you be happy with that?)

What else would you have them do?

Take an envelope, stick all ten packages in it, mail them out today. Happy customer.

But that's what I mean about walking a fine line. They want to charge for something without really treating it like a real business. And if that works for them, that's fine. But if it also leads to people badmouthing the company at a Christmas party (which is where I heard that story), maybe not so great.

No fun, only consumption.

I would guess that may not be easily possible given the personalized nature of some of the contents. One is personalized cards, one is the political contributions list personalized to your state, and then the last is the island thing where it's personalized to your name (and also latitude and longitude coordinates for the land).

Yep. Yep yep yep. 250k to a very very worthy cause with 0 strings attached is one hell of a gift, semi-racist Kwanzaa joke or no. So this is a really great gesture. BUT IF YOU DONT READ AN AD HOW WILL ANYONE GET THESE FUNNY CARDS

I signed up this year, and have enjoyed the items. Stoked to try the berries! I think I've received all the items, but none of them came in order. It exceeded my expectations, for the money especially. I really liked the financial disclosure day, what a great way to thumb the nose of politicians.

I'm up for the meetup!

What's unprofessional about "Perhaps it's delayed in the mail. Wait another week and let us know if it still isn't there"?
