Eat a candy bar - go to Jail.An update on a previous Mefi thread: Hemp foods are now illegal as per new DEA rules that took effect this Monday, 02/06. (PDF version is available as well.) This Canada study shows that it would take the consumption of a hell of a lot of Hemp products to reach the same THC levels as Marijuana.

No one has ever OD's from pot, but if you're going to say it's caused no deaths, then you have to say that Tobacco hasn't either.

Smoking Pot cigarettes is just as bad for you as smoking tobacco ones, if not worse for the lack of a filter.

But, otoh, pot is not addictive and very few people smoke the equivalent of '3 packs a day'

Anyway, I don't see what the big deal is about banning these foods. THC is illegal, it probably shouldn't be, but it is. So deal.

I mean, if I sold candybars that were laced with ecstasy and Heroin, I could go to jail, and the topic "eat candybar, go to jail" would be just as correct, and just as idiotic.

It's not much, but it gives the legal groups fighting this ban more time to convince a judge that DEA has lost it's collective fuzzy mind.

about as logical as banning 'bananas' because popular folk law says that smoking it dried gets you high (shyeah right!).

For a change, it's nice to see the UK leading in common-sense when it comes to the weed:
