This one looks like it could be the cover for a sci-fi story set on a terraformed Moon.

Yes! This is what a library is!

The first one remids me a little of the mural Doug Jaques' Environmental Art class from ACC did on our building, back in about '95.

Reminds me of Jacek Yerka's work. Very cool eye candy.

Oooh!!! These are gorgeous and fun.

Some of them lend themselves especially well to the scrolling format of a website. Like, I look at the top half and I can see what's going on, and then I scroll further and suddenly everything is something else.

I think they are interesting, but somewhat repetitive. I think they do better as individual paintings than as a collection.

The ones that work best for me are those that seem to be partly going on in the imagination of the human subjects. Those ones feel most cheerful and optimistic, to me. They make me think of Narnia, and Sandman, in particular of 'A Game of You'.

These are fantastic!

Looks to me as most of them are physically impossible, but some are possible, such as this one or this one (assuming the tiles are an exact mirror image of the sky - works just for a single camera point.) or this one (except that monarch butterflies flock together during a different season afaik).

Oh. My. These are gorgeous.

It would creep me out too if I was walking down a corridor and the clouds started turning into monks. However if sunflowers turned into girls to the tune of my violin I would GET THE HELL BACK IN THE HOUSE.

I don't think I've ever seen a person be inspired by Escher so successfully. Also, the methodology of the illusion is simple and really easy to see - transitions in perspective etc - but effective and charming. The illusion is presented to the viewer with disarming transparency.

Escher, Rockwell and Hopper going on here, I think.

My father-in-law used to make custom picture frames. Years ago, I saw this one in a framer's trade magazine he had laying around the house, and fell in love with it. My wife (then-fiancee) cut the picture out, matted it on some cardboard and gave it to me as a present, and it's still on my wall to this day.
