Yeah, that's not at all what I got from it. But if you simply must have something to feel morally superior to...

I found it quite entertaining.

the first half of the film is a ridiculous, cobbled together Babbit-like narrative that drops lines from the Anxiety and Phobia Handbook. it's more or less taken from the bits on perfectionism and self-esteem. I know this having worked through the workbook at various points in my life

the second half is this absurdist realization of the horse's physical inability to move through the world 'normally' that's punctuated with staccato grunting sounds pretty much on the level of grade school mimicries of the developmentally disabled. the pack horses reject him with straight man cursing, I guess to represent what we ourselves would do if we were confronted by such an absurd, abnormal creature

that's my takeaway. you're entitled to yours.

A fine commentary on the American cult of celebrity.

...the horse IS Sarah Palin, right?

but it keeps going past the horse thing, yes? I only made it past two, stopped at childrens-song. Can anyone let me know how many there are? I could watch a few more if there's a payoff, but am not amused enough by them individually to possibly get stuck watching them for the next 20 minutes.

well i guess as an inspiration for me to reflect on how a lot of "absurdist" stuff relies on policing the boundaries of the appropriate thats cool, but i didn't like this much

I think we're all forgetting the most important question here. If this horse was supposedly raised by spheres, why does he move around like a cube?

It's in the other tab. Right now.

And then it starts to repeat. I think I'm just more confused than anything else.

I feel morally superior to all of you.

You look like ants from here.

Even if you began now, and studied, and prepared yourselves to act in the most honorable way possible, complete with passion, integrity and an encyclopedic recall of the world's wisdom in action...

I would still demean you. I would know in my heart, and in the hearts and minds of my children and community, that you are inferior.

I chortle at you. Snort, if I'm in my cups. I drunkenly snort at you all.

http://childrens-song.com/ a bunch of kids sing a rather dark children's song...

I'm a bit disappointed by this... The animation style is interesting, as is the overarching concept, but the "sketches" don't really amount to much. A neat idea, but I feel it could have been a lot more...

Needs NSFW tag & rape tw.

In Please Say Something, David OReilly's constrained-yet-chaotic approach to animation played with a grounded-yet-transcendent story about a failing relationship. It was gorgeous, touching, and funny. I compared it to Krazy Kat and Ignatz Mouse meets Fando y Lis.

However, I gotta say the "Gotta Keep the Dream Alive" short shattered the respect I had for this dude...

Turns out he's just another edgy net bro hanging out with other bros creating bro art for adult-swim-surrealist-entertainment-consumer bros.
