BitchCoin conforms to both Chartalist and Metallist readings

What is BitchCoin?
BitchCoin is a digital currency backed by the photography of Sarah Meyohas at a fixed exchange rate of 1 BitchCoin to 25 square inches of photographic print. This rate of exchange will not change, even if the value of the photography increases. As her work changes in value over time, so will the relative value of BitchCoin.

BitchCoin is the focus of “Where 6,” an exhibition on prediction at Where, a gallery and publishing house headquartered in a shipping container in Brooklyn. Where invited Sarah Meyohas to “mine” her coins in the gallery and design how BitchCoin would operate. The installed mining rig can viewed through Where’s live-streaming webcam.

Well this is the most William Gibson-esque real-life story I can think of.

I don't understand what act will constitute "mining" a coin. Putting a print in the vault? What does a "mining rig" computer do in this case?

I was hoping this was a way for me to buy the right to piss and moan.

I am going to short her currency, romance, marry, and have children with her. The ineluctable desire of all parents to photograph children will debase the value of the currency and then I will be filthy rich. And have wonderful prints of my beautiful children.

I am going to buy 1% of all bitchcoins and corner the market on bitchcoin with my bitchin' bitchcoin trove.

Given that the first image to back BitchCoin is called "Speculation", is of a naked woman and features an infinite regression, I'd be long sarcasm.

Wow, is $2,500 a typical price for prints of a photo like that?
