Now this is progress: FAA-Certified Bomb Resistant Aircraft Baggage Container. Since before Flight 103 exploded over Lockerbee in 1988, this technology has been in development. It has finally passed the FAA test. Check out the cool video of the tests. I, for one, will feel safer in the air.

wow... nice videos... reminds of the movie MASK... but I have a question. Since it seems like that the HULD actually expands a bit after the blast, I wonder what happens when two or three HULDs are placed right next to each other as in real life situation.

I saw a story about this on CNN the other day. Their postscript on the story was that the containers were heavier, and more expensive, so therefore the airlines will probably not buy them.
