I actually have a 80's SDF-1 sitting right here in my office. I don't know if I'd use the word "Transformer", myself, especially given the recent unpleasantness.

No, because it's the DYRL Macross, which instead used the two ARMOR orbital carriers for its arms. (I'm wondering if they are capable of disconnecting from the Macross.)

My second reaction was to wonder where the Daedalus arm was.

This spaceship made me expectedly emotional. Don't look at me, Macross was formative. In fact, leave me alone. I need to go... definitely not think about spaceships some more.
