Can you change how you're known on the internet ? One chapter (Guardian) from a book on internet reputation and it's manipulation. Covers someone whose online persona is taken over by an "infomorph", someone whose humourous tweet led to her losing her job and the pycon sexual haras==sment todo that was covered here (Previously).

That "tweet" for the second individual was actually a facebook post (if I read the article correctly).. using the word "humorous" is a bit of a stretch...it was in poor taste and showed pretty poor judgement... in addition she had a chance, after some feedback pointing out that people were objecting to it, to remove the post and chose not to... This doesn't give anyone the right to conduct a public lynching, but, in this day and age, being careful about your online presence is a skill set everyone needs to cultivate.

You're correct, it was a facebook post - and I said humourous because it seemed to have been posted in an attempt to be such. Not all of us agree about what is funny.
