How to Save Us

How to Save Us (trailer) is a low-budget horror film made by Jason Trost, creator of the cult hit The FP (previously). Jason Trost is a young filmmaker who continually puts out unique, sometimes satirical, but always creative films across all genres, pulling them together despite shoestring budgets derived mostly from crowdfunding that he manages himself. Jason Trost's films often draw negative reviews mostly centered around their lack of budget, however they are unique and odd enough that he has accumulated his fair share of loyal fans and supporters.

Can i tell you how much i LOVE the FP? "With no drunks, who is going to feed the ducks!?!"

Also - the I <3 NY t-shirt with the duct tape across NY with a black marker FP? Classic.

This will definitely be something we see. So excited he's putting out another movie!

Also a fan of The FP, and this looks great.

I went as J-Tro for Halloween a couple years ago and it was awesome. I wish I liked horror more, because I really do want to see what this kid does as he ages out of rank adolescence. (Don't get me wrong, I loved The FP, but it's straight out of a teenager's psyche.)

The logic chain of how shutting down the town's liquor store would lead to a town without ducks AND WHAT'S A TOWN WITHOUT DUCKS IN THE PARK, MAN??!!? remains one of my favorite bits of consequence-tracing ever. It made up for the relative surprisingly low amount of actual brutal Beat Beat Revelation dancecombat in the movie.

Isn't the expression "low budget horror film" a redundancy? :)

I have no idea who this guy is, but good for him, raising money and making the films he wants to make. I have often said that we have all the tools at our disposal that filmmakers in the 1970s and 80s would love to have access to, all contained within a decent smartphone. I love to see when people make movies for a shoestring, even if I don't love the movies themselves.
