That White Gold

Sports teams making videos has been kind of a thing for the past few years. In the run up to the 2015 Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun, Sweden the USSA Nordic team decided they should make one too.

Long the underdogs on the international nordic scene; the US team has been making inroads into the medals in recent years. In 2008 Kikkan Randall was the first American woman to win a World Cup event ever. Then she became the Overall World Cup Sprint Champion three times. In 2013 Randall and Jessie Diggins won the womens' team sprint at the Worlds the first gold medal for the US ever. This year the US team notched another historic finish with two US women on the podium in an individual distance event. In the same week former team member Holly Brooks won the American Birkebiener and is leading the FIS Marathon Cup standings.

Making the video was a team building exercise , they choreographed and produced it themselves and it stars athletes, coaches, support crew and friends. But the skiers hope that the medal wins (and their dance skills) helps bring nordic skiing to the people.
