Phonetically, the title would read "yamas on the yam," which sounds like it could be delicious. But yiberty from the yaw? I'm confused.

On tonight's show, Bill O'Reilly will claim to have been RIGHT THERE where the llamas were running.

And Sheriff Alpaio will declare the llamas to be illegal aliens and have them immediately deported.

I'm told that Lorenzo Lamas was trending during this incident, which really makes the story that much better.

This is the only thing I have to add to a llama discussion:

The one-l lama,
He's a priest.
The two-l llama,
He's a beast.
And I will bet
A silk pajama
There isn't any
Three-l lllama.*
-- Ogden Nash

* The author's attention has been called to a type of conflagration known as a three-alarmer. Pooh.

Won't they be detained indefinitely and forced to wear demeaning undergarments of alpaca wool?

At any rate, I'm glad there wasn't hot water involved, or it could have become a co-llama-tea.

And if they attempted to slow the llamas down by crashing large bells into them, it'd be a ram-a-llama-ding-dong.

I always thought of lassos as that prop cowboys use to show off in westerns, never as an actual thing that works! Amazing!

Checking Twitter during a break in the House budget hearing I was suffering through to discover that the entire internet had been taken over by llamas was easily the highlight of my day.

Awwww, no, guinea pigs. I hate people who dump pets, especially exotic pets. They usually die horribly in the end if no one catches them, and if on the off chance they don't, they have an unfortunate chance of establishing a breeding population and wreaking havoc on the local ecosystem.

Also, they really need to set live traps for the pigs. Rodents are WAY easier to catch via trap than they are by net, and if the greediness of the pigs I've met is any indication, it's not like it would be hard to lure them back into captivity.

I could not stop laughing at all the terrible llama puns that took over my twitter feed, and that was before the Yakety Sax version of the chase. My face hurt by the end of it.

One of my favorite COPS episodes was when they were chasing a zebra through a neighborhood. They had to warn people to stay in their houses because it's a dangerous animal.

So cops are running through the streets yelling "STAY IN YOUR HOMES! THERE'S A FERAL ZEBRA ON THE RUN!" I think "feral zebra" is my favorite phrase.

But now I love these llamas! These "drama llamas."

In even more llama related news, it seems that llamas and alpacas have effective antibody responses to HIV (I'm on my phone, so unfortunately, I can't link).

The llakety sax version is great. One of the downsides of living here is that, were there to be llamas on the loose, I can guarantee that the first three pickups to stop would all be driven by former rodeo contestants and there would be no gloriously inept capture attempts, and hence no comedy gold. Better for the animals, worse for viral video.

there's a pack of guinea pigs* loose in a San Francisco park. SF Animal Control has only been able to capture one thus far, despite some very llarge nets.

One of the animal control officers in that story is named "Frog Gilmore." No, really.

No word pending on any criminal or misdemeanor charges pending against the owner, or the llamas.
Arizona has struck me for years now as being a little let-us-say retro in its approach to legislation, but are pack animals typically considered competent to face criminal charges?

I wonder how people saw this story and assumed this would be the strangest news item of the day.

Well, I don't know where your "here" is, but since it's Rodeo Days in Tucson, I'm guessing all the ropers from the Phoenix metro area are down in our little town rather than available to catch llamas in Sun City.

Like yin and yang, they represent balance, only with a much darker purpose. If you had checked the pages hidden at the back of the Necronomiclopedia you would have read that when the chaotic balance appears, it is the beginning of the grand finale, regardless of any vain mortal attempts to halt the process.

Though I'll admit, I didn't see the harbingers of the end of all as being llamas. That one was... unexpected.

Two cows escaped from the local meat packing place today. They ran by the community center and police station before being captured. About two blocks from me. What I'm saying is this, the animal anarchy is getting closer to my house. AND I LOVE IT.

Squeak Attack, my thoughts exactly. My first reaction was that all the decent ropers must be in Tucson right now. Show me one other city with 900,000 people that gives all kids 2 days off of school for the damn rodeo.
