Pop singer and extremely talented ass-clown Michael Bolton has shown his comedy chops before in his collaboration with The Lonely Island (previously). Now he takes his place in a role that was literally named for him.

However little I think of his music, I knew there had to be something worthwhile about Michael Bolton if Ashley Judd dated him. She's brilliant and funny and there is just no way she'd have been with him if he were even half the tool I supposed he was. Though I guess great people routinely date tools, so what do I know...

See, if Kenny G would show a little humility and a sense of self-effacing humor, he probably wouldn't be universally reviled.

Kenny G was in the Katy Perry music video...?

Special Bonus: normally I'm mad at Funny or Die's autoplay, but today it showed me Huey Lewis's take on American Psycho.

all I can say to this is John Tesh

I stumbled on the show 'Repeat After Me' featuring none other than Michael Bolton last week. I expect the format of this show will get old pretty quickly, but his bit is pretty funny.

Good sense of humor by Bolton. Have to say he's looking a little rough, though.

Personally, I celebrate the guy's entire catalog, so this is no surprise.

I dunno. He doesn't look bad for a 62 year old.

Funnily enough, a couple weeks ago Kenny G and Warren G teamed up.

Kenny G invented the frappuccino.

So that's something.

"Kenny has been a dear friend of Starbucks since the beginning of the company, and he did provide feedback on the creation of the beverage. We are very appreciative of everyone, including Kenny, who've been a part of the success of Frappuccino," the spokesperson said.

Michael Bolton has moved from "laughable ass clown" to "potential national treasure" in the last couple of years. I encourage us to encourage him to continue this move.

Man can sing he's just frequently chosen lousy songs. And he's hilarious.

Michael Bolton without, well, Michael Bolton hair just messes with my mind.

Editorializing.

This had potential, but... what is it? He just sticks himself in the scene and repeats the same lines.

What if the real Michael Bolton ended up in an office and people wondered if he was related to the famous Michael Bolton? See, there's potential there. This is just... "Hey look, Michael Bolton is playing the other Micheal Bolton." Thumbs down.

I found the idea of this much funnier than the actual video.

Also Michael Bolton needs to eat.

Michael Bolton, before he was singing recycled MOR light R'n'B, was a hard rock guy with the hair for it. There are people who have seen Michael Bolton (né Bolotin) open for Ozzy Osbourne, which sounds as if it should go in the pantheon of mismatched bills with Jimi Hendrix opening for the Monkees and The Doors opening for Simon and Garfunkel.

I found the office schtick pretty funny, but the collaboration with The Lonely Island was really hilarious. I actually would like to see Michael Bolton do some movie acting. I bet he could host SNL.

And I like the cropped hair. Always hated that stupid long hair on him. Dude, you have some fine bone structure there. Don't hide it behind ratty-looking long hair.

TBF - that was 1967, when The Monkees were desperately trying for real rock cred, and had genuinely shown some talent writing psychodelic less-totally-pop songs.

The Doors opening for Simon and Garfunkel, though... gaah!

To be fair, that's Hanson he's pretending to play the saxophone near, and it would take a stronger person than I to pass up the chance to do that.

So I guess we all like Michael Bolton now? I didn't get the memo--don't start. But good on him for having a sense of humor, maybe.

While I never saw him live, I distinctly remember the ads for Michael Bolotin shows while listening to WPLR in New Haven in the '70s. He was a regular at Toad's and other clubs in Connecticut back then.

Nice to see he's finally getting caught up on his Netflix queue. He's going to love Almost Famous and High Fidelity when he gets around to watching those.
