"What is culture, if not a set of prejudices?"

The New York Times Magazine asked Norwegian author Karl Ove Knausgård to "travel to Newfoundland and visit the place where the Vikings had settled, then rent a car and drive south into the U.S. and westward to Minnesota, where a large majority of Norwegian-American immigrants had settled, and then write about it." My Saga: Parts 1 and 2.

Salon has short, snarky responses to both essays:
“I had never seen people that fat before”: Karl Ove Knausgaard is shocked by Canadians’ “enormous girth”
and
Karl Ove Knausgaard continues to find America very stressful

The title of the essays is a play on Knausgard's autobiographical novels: My Struggle. Previously: 1, 2 and 3
