After a while, the circles begin to push YOU

This is a game where you push circles into other circles. This is a destructively massive time sink. You have been warned.

Gave up on the third level.

This looks like Game about Squares with the addition of some novel circle-based mechanics. Cool!

is this the swarm? we care about the swarm.

(which is to say, I've got a massive timesink already, buzz buzz)

WTF? Is it actually trying to hold me hostage and saying it won't tell me how the game works until I get 10 people to like it on Facebook or something?

Only works if you turn off sound? Got the level six and said, yeah, no...

Hit 5, gave up.

Yes, luckily Level 5 doesn't believe in physics.

Nice idea. Butt ugly. Pass.

Yeah, it was a good concept undermined by poor execution and really unnecessary social media fuckery. I basically hate the developers because of their help button.

Failing already on level six. Boooo!!!

I couldn't get past 11. I think it's impossible. Liked it while it lasted though!

Oh man, so just going to close that tab and nope my way elsewhere.. (also, a cruelly clever little "help" trick there)

Bahhhhh, level 19. I am going home now, level 19. Good-bye.

Level 4, click. Time sink averted.

Something wonky with 11 for sure. The social media "help" is BS though. It's actually only refusing to tell you the answer to the stage unless you share it, but should at least describe the rules!

Level 19: Nope. Don't have time for this.

Not that I did in the first place when I had a eureka on stage 5 and decided to keep playing for another 14 levels, but whatever.

Level eleven hint: Start from the far right during the final step or you'll push things out of alignment just enough to matter.

Bailing out on level 12.

Nothing responds to clicks apart from buttons with Facebook or Twitter logos. Time sink averted!

Cute so far (am on level 6) though increasingly suspect that Firefox needs an 'open this page in Chrome so it actually works' button.

Up to level 6 on Firefox, strongly suspecting the rest of you haven't installed Ghostery and AdBlock Plus! Everything working perfectly hunky dory, no social media intrusions either.

Wait, I thought metafilter was my social media.

I think I'd rather be curling.

The circle just sits there. No amount of clicking, click-dragging, WASD, cursor keys, space bar, enter, escape key does anything.

User interface fail.

Moving on, not looking back.

1. So ugly.
2. No keyboard controls.
posted by carrioncomfort at 8:55 AM on March 14, 2015

Oh my. I clicked the "help" button and it offered the solution to level 5 if and only if I shared the game with 10 other people.

Is that a thing that they do now? It's the first time I've seen it.

I finally figured out level 19. Since the "reward" is level 20, I'm very unsure it was worth it.

I'm not having the interface issues others have mentioned - running Firefox with Adblock and Ghostery, like barnacles. But I kind of wish interface issues would've intervened and saved me from myself.

Hello everyone, creator of Circle Push here. I saw this page pop up in my referrer logs, so I stopped by and created an account. Thank you all for this de facto feedback!

Good eye, Matt - It was indeed inspired by Game About Squares.

To those for whom clicking the circles does nothing: May I ask which browser you use?

To anyone stuck on a level: Disregard the "Help" gimmick - Feel free to ask, and I'll provide the answers.

Thanks for the offer, stevenh! I think level 19 did me in, though. It's where I hit the wall of "I can puzzle this out" vs "if I bash at this long enough, something will give" and it did give, but that's where the logic of the puzzle started to feel aggravatingly obscured to me.

The game is broken for me in Firefox on Linux, even in safe mode. Only the goal circle appears. This happens in every version I tested, from Firefox 31.4.0 to Firefox Nightly 39.0a1. It works in Chromium on the same computer.

If I can make a request, make it possible to reset a level with R instead of just the mouse. It doesn't even need to be documented, I tried R out of habit since so many other puzzle games use it. I assume it was "mobile-first" design, which sometimes inadvertently becomes "mobile only" but adding some keyboard controls on-top of that is worth considering.

Some part of my brain kept clicking on the "back to the previous level" arrow when I wanted to reset. After the first time I consciously knew that's wrong, but I still kept doing it.

And I was using it in Firefox in Windows 7 and it works.

I made it past 5 and got stuck on 6. There's something I have a hard time wrapping my head around in terms of getting these precise positions out of what I'm doing. Like, I bumbled around on 5 until I found something that worked but I never understood the difference between the one that worked and the ones I thought would work but didn't.

An "undo" rather than a reset would be nice.

Level 13. I've figured out the sequence, but I can't get the final circle to land perfectly (it leaves a thin crescent that taunts me). Damn you. Having trouble determining if the circles move the same distance with each push. Firefox with outdated PC.

I've enjoyed this game. Got to level 32 on the iOS app.

I was annoyed that the app will sometimes reboot and take me back to the first level. It saves my place and I can arrow up to the level that I last won, but it's still annoying to have to do that.

Level 13 help: green x4, blue x10, red x3, blue x3, green x2, blue, green, red

Yes, the circles move the same distance with each push.

thanks, aabbbiee, I did manage to get through 13 and am now stuck on 14. I think I've hit the limit of my IQ.

oof, 21 is rough. I'm making progress, but it's slow going.

Made to 35. I am not going to bother with 35. I should not have bothered making it this far, probably.
