"a fractured parliament and no clear winner"

This post was deleted for the following reason: There is no need to jump the gun and post about elections that don't even have official results out - a lot of these links are really thin and speculative, and we can get a much better post in a few days. -- restless_nomad

When I heard Likud had 27 I assumed Netanyahu had a clear path to remaining PM, but it's actually not totally clear; Likud got more seats than expected by virtue of taking votes away from Lieberman and Bennett, so the size of the right bloc isn't actually much bigger than projected. And Netanyahu can't do it, I don't think, without Moshe Kahlon, whom he seems to have royally pissed off. The President, Reuven Rivlin, gets to say who has first shot at forming a government -- he is on the right, but apparently he hates Netanhayu too, and given the close election he is said to be leaning towards proposing a national unity government where Herzog and Netanyahu would alternate as PM.

So basically there will literally be nobody in Israel who is not pissed off, except possibly babies.
