Garageband is out of business. Damn. For any aspiring musicians/bands (myself included), this was a really nice service. Upload your original MP3, get reviews from other bands, etc..
Another dot com flameout? Whaddaya think?

I was once a fan of the site, just reviewing to make a mix CD. It's a damn shame it had to go, though, it was quite a fanciful service. posted by GirlFriday at 1:47 PM on February 15, 2002
A friend's band got voted up to number one on their site, then got a call from Fred Durst's record label... that's a mixed blessing. I feel bad for those bands, this was a good outlet for exposure... posted by hotdoughnutsnow at 2:20 PM on February 15, 2002
Our experience has always been good because unlike other artist/band promotion sites, you were required to review other bands music before you could post your own. In addition, your reviews were reviewed. It seemed like a pretty even-handed system (sure there were some jerks) overall. posted by KevinSkomsvold at 2:43 PM on February 15, 2002
