Tsaranaev found guilty on 30 counts Next, will they give him the death penalty?
No one has been sentenced to a federal death penalty since 2004. The jurors were asked if they would be impartial - basically death qualified. The death penalty has been outlawed in Massachusetts since 1984 but the federal death penalty still exists. The search has been a bit troublesome, but apparently they found enough jurors who are neutral about the death penalty.

This post was deleted for the following reason: This is a bit on the newsfiltery side; we'll probably still want to discuss this after sentencing so maybe let's hold off until then at least. Last week's thread on Judy Clarke and capital punishment is still open, however. -- goodnewsfortheinsane
