Ricardo Baliardo played, his couisin Jose Reyes sang and Salvador Dali sketched.
It was a 1967 concert in honor of Human Rights at the United Nations in New York.
Ricardo Baliardo aka Manitas de Plata played regularily at Saintes Maries de la Mer in the Carmargue for the fiestas of Sara la Kali.
With the help of Lucien Clergue, the photographer (previously), Alan Silver made one of the first recordings in 1963.
De Plata was illiterate and practically monosyllabic his greatest inspiration was the late Django Reinhardt (previous).

Clergue became De Plata’s manager for a while and in 1964 introduced him to Picasso,
who inscribed his guitar. De Plata would later supply the soundtrack to Clergue’s documentary Pablo Picasso: War, Peace, Love.
Picasso became a friend as did Jean Cocteau and Brigitte Bardot.
Traditionalists disliked his style but his electric playing captured the world.
Tons of his music online.

Fantastic music.
Manitas DePlata had a big influence on Montreal's Jesse Cook.

I went looking for a translation of “Uno pocito” and what I got was "un poquito" - a little. I assume that's what they meant.
