When you think it's gone wrong, it hasn't

That's a cool animation technique but that's a really creepy story it's telling: she's locking doors to get away from the bunny dude and he kicks one down in pursuit of her, and only catches her because the omnipotent animator intervenes Duck Amuck (yt) style, and after he catches her he lowers the shades...

I guess we're supposed to assume that bunny guy and the animator knew better than her and she welcomed being caught in the end? Any chance this is trying to say something about Russian annexation of parts of Ukraine? My Googlings aren't uncovering support for such an interpretation, though.

Yeah, same reaction. Cool animation, creepy story that doesn't go with the general effect of the music.

I also had the same reaction when I saw this a few months ago on Facebook. Great animation -- horrible story.

Maybe the animation is intended to subvert the song.

If it is intended, it doesn't work well enough for me.

I guess the other thing that interests me is that this is all taking place on Apple hardware - and that is right there in the video description. It's totally credible that the band would own that many Apple devices, of course, but after seeing another music video on MetaFilter which heavily featured Pabst Blue Ribbon, I found myself wondering whether this was done as an aesthetic choice, or whether there was some compelling technical reason (I mean, this is just movie files running concurrently...), or whether this is some form of native advertising. Not that this makes it bad - it's just interesting to me.

That said, yeah - she was aware he was interested, she was trying to get away from him. Take a hint, bunny dude.
