Messybeast.com [previously] has a lot on offer than previously discussed on the blue; the cat care, welfare, rescue, genetics and history page has information about cat breeds and types, cat behaviour, eye colours in cats, a plain english guide to cat colours and patterns, a plain english guide to conformation, and cat colour and pattern charts. Oh and don't miss the indefinable colours, with photos and description.

Excellent, now I can call my cat a spaghetti-nose and science will avenge me.

Maybe if you're a goth. I find white and grey works best for me and my couch.

My partner and I have in recent months become the happy servants of a mitted tuxedo and an Egyptian Mau cross. The latter is especially interesting as he has a curly tail. Today I have learned that this is called an Aerial-Curved Ringtail! I can see we're going to be analysing his exact fur colour and spotting tonight.

When we adopted our cat from the shelter, the people there weren't sure if her tail was a spiral because of an injury, or if it was genetic. (It is exactly like the corkscrew on this page.)

It doesn't seem to bother her much, though she is not that great at jumping and has gotten a few cords caught in it and that really freaks her out.
