That second set of prosthetics was more Zombie than Elderly.

It's like they got into a knife-fight somewhere in their 60's.

I thought that would be gimmicky but it was surprisingly affecting. The Mr and I just had our 4th wedding anniversary; he turned 50 this year and I will next year, and the topic of how we take care of each other for the next few decades has been a lot on our minds.

Hey, they were told that using the precogs was optional.

That was adorable.

I wonder if the croaky voices were because they were getting emotional or just that they were getting into character.

That was sweet, but are haircuts not available to men in their 90s?

The changes for the 50s seem pretty mild to me; I'm there now and when I look back at me in my 20s, I can barely recognize myself.

I like that they just got older in the face, no dad-gut, no arthritic stoop, no post-partum baby weight, no hair loss for him or hair gain for her. They remain a hot couple FOREVER!

I found this extremely touching, and I thought the make-up artists did a nice job.

You could watch understanding hit them on a visceral level that they're going to age, and someday die. It makes me wonder if this sort of makeover could be a kind of vaccine against fear of aging - you face it in a sudden rush, preferably with someone you love by your side going through the same thing - and realize hey, it's shocking but maybe not so bad after all. Maybe weeks from that time, when all the makeup has washed off, but you discover a new crop of crows feet or grey hair, part of you would be able to say "oh yeah, I've been here and then some. No big deal."

The one thing that was kind of disappointing to me was that the fashions they were wearing were what someone of that age would wear today. I wanted to see what they thought old people would be wearing 25, 40, 60 years in the future. At least I hope for nanotechnology cardigans that stay clean even when you spill your soup on them.

I thought this too! But then it occurred to me that people don't really age from teens to adulthood in a perfectly linear fashion--sometimes you go through awkward phases, take a while to "grow into" your face or what have you. Don't see why that might not also apply in middle age and later.

You're assuming we will still even use/need meat bodies then.

Old people to day wear the same stuff they wore when they were younger, to the extent that they can still afford it / fit into it.

When current 20 somethings are old, they'll be wearing jeans and T-shirts.

It's the young people who will be wearing the foil mini-skirts.
