On this holiday weekend, you should practice important cat-related things (flash game).

this is amazing. Thanks!

However, can I note that you got me excited about the whole holiday thing for about 20 seconds until I checked the calendar and then your profile and realized that you're celebrating QEII/Victoria day in Canada.

Didn't you guys declare independence a while ago? I'm sure QEII appreciates the fireworks and general frivolity, though.

yes I am grumpy about the lack of a holiday. and the lack of fireworks. and frivolity.

I knocked over the lamp which prevents me from getting to and knocking over all the other stuff on the right side of the screen! rapidly clicks Z Z Z Z to summon help!

Sometimes things which cannot be nudged by pushing to the side can either be jostled from below or by being pushed sideways in mid jump (it'll move a tiny bit each jump so you need to repeat). Not sure if the big lamp or chair are destructible but I've managed to wreck everything else.

Who knew cats could get metafilter accounts.

I like to just sit on top of the sleeping person and start kneeding. Sometimes I'll sit on their head and purr.

Kneading your tiny paws on the guy's face is tremendous fun. Also eats the sleep meter faster than breaking stuff and meowing a lot.

No, knocking over the lamp is okay. Knock that plant the hell off next and then CLIMB.

OMG this is amazing - thanks for posting. Yes, you can knock over the lamp and then climb all over it. But, it's more fun to jump on the person's face, meow and kneed like crazy!

Ugh, no, miaowing and kneading is boring. Smash all that guy's shit. So satisfying.

You can get stuff to bounce on your back like a volleyball, sending it flying into the stratosphere before it hits the ground and explodes. Being a cat is fun.

I find a cold, wet nose to the lips is remarkably effective.

I was surprised how satisfying it was to wake him up. I can now fully appreciate why my cat is so persistent.

I want version 2.0 to allow you to actually set a fire. Bring in another cat. Shred things.

I feel like I'm playing a sausage-rat, not a cat!

Huh, not the first game of its sort-- I remember a 3d first-person one where you see your paw shoots out to bat things off of tables etc. The physics in that one were more satisfying. I forget the name.

In other news, fuck this thing in particular.

This, gusandrews, Catlateral Damage. An unnamed version has been on MeFi before I think.

Ah, that page is to the ad page for the work-in-progress for-pay version. (Yes, he's actually going to sell a game where you're a cat and knock things off of shelves. On Steam no less.) Here's the free web version.

One time I was asleep and my garbage cat, seemingly aware that "eyes closed = human can't pay attention to me", jumped onto my chest, TOOK HIS LITTLE PAW, AND FORCED MY EYELID OPEN

being a creature of infinite mercy, he waited until 4:30 or 5:00 though

My cat is nothing like this. Why just this morning I found him laying patiently on my desk waiting for me to wake up. Of course once he saw my awake he then pushed a ceramic dish onto the tile floor while maintaining direct eye contact. REALLY, CAT???

Cannot favorite this enough. I've learned to sleep through most of the tortured baby meowing that just means he's not happy with the treat dispenser being horizontal for a while, but those /special/ meows, the low pitched ones that almost always precipitate a hairball or worse, those wake me from a dead sleep tout suite.

I'm also waiting for version 2.0 with two cats. Cats should be fighting each other and trying to get into the refrigerator. If you don't wake up in time, the cats eat all your food.
