This is a High Concept Reality Show

Craigslist Job Listing: Producer's Assistant for Real Superman Show. Via Da7e Gonzalez.
This is a very long job ad because this is an extremely high concept show and I need someone who can handle very high concept material and can take this all in in one ad because this is the level of complexity that this show is going to be operating on.

The basic premise of this show is that Clark Kent/Superman and all the characters in the DC Universe are all fictional portrayals of actual real people in our world and I believe that by determining who they are in reality it is possible to create a Superman Reality Show that is basically like a reality show version of the DC Universe in many ways.

This post was deleted for the following reason: This is bizarre for sure, but seems like it's not the product of someone who's in a good place, so it's maybe kind of point-and-laugh to throw attention on it. -- LobsterMitten

Not sure this is FFP material, but holy crap if you scroll down it gets into Lord of the Rings and The Legend of Zelda...

Now the Ultimate Spoiler ever is who is the Real Santa Clause, and it's a complete secret we can't reveal until much later into production, but there is a real Santa Clause and it's the highest level spoiler ever.

Hahahaha

The main thing is I'm looking for someone who can handle all of this without getting overwhelmed by all of it.

And that man was Jean Baudrillard.

This show is like a cocktail. Take one part reality show, one part Unbreakable, a splash of "the truth is out there" all mixed up with a gallon of absinthe.

I worked for someone like this a long, long time ago. There was a lot of cocaine involved.

That's not usually what people mean by high concept.

I think he missed a comma in there.

Spoilers:
Like for example, I believe that the real Lex Luthor is Rupert Murdoch while the real LexCorps is News Corps and so in the show Rupert Murdoch is just Lex Luthor and News Corps is LexCorps.

And then like the real Lois Lane is Ashley Arenson while the real Lana Lang is Gillian Zinser from Beverly Hills 90210, while the real Bruce Wayne is Kanye West, the real Vicki Vale is Kim Kardashian, and the real Alfred Pennyworth is actually Kris Jenner because sometimes in fictional comics a woman may be portrayed as a man so while Bruce Wayne is a white billionaire and Alfred is his butler in the comic, in the real life DC Universe Bruce Wayne is Kanye West, a black superstar rapper, and Alfred is actually his mother-in-law Kris Jenner.

I'm thinking this could get off the ground. So far I'm with this guy like 200%.

This is such a textbook example of cocaine rambling that it unearthed the memory of a very long voice mail I once got from someone pitching me their entire multiplatform immersive art experience cause I told them once I had experience editing video....

Also, does anyone know where Max Landis is?

Metafilter: This is meant to just be a fun production to entertain people and it's just for fun and entertainment for everyone, our goal is just to make it a cool magical thing that's not scary and is just sort of magical and amazing.

I am almost entirely sure this is Patton Oswalt from Parks and Recreation.

I would pay a significant amount of money to see Patton Oswalt and Max Landis collaborate on some gonzo comic book thing.

According to Wikipedia, "High-concept is a type of artistic work that can be easily pitched with a succinctly stated premise.".

This made far too much sense while also making no sense. I'm impressed with the capitalization and sentence structure that we don't get to see even in less crazy writing anymore. I'd watch this. I'm going to start ending all of my business communication with:

This is the usual level my brain operates on, this is a reflection of the level I'm thinking on pretty much all the time actually.

the concept makes sense. fictional characters are based on real traits and there are people who just happen to be a conjunction of these traits. in a fictional world, it'd be interesting to see how they interact and comics like the Ultimate Avengers (at least the original issue) are pretty good at exploring such interactions

the not-so-much-sense part is his catalogue of people who embody these traits and his various justifications for it. it's like he doesn't have a super great understanding of the film industry or of created images or of human interpersonal interactions. I feel like either this is real and we're laughing at someone who isn't as well socialized or educated as we are or this is just some elaborate long troll punching down at people with mental illness

but I dunno

For example, Miami Vice was the textbook example of this, having been pitched as "MTV Cops".

In conclusion, cocaine is a land of contrasts.

"Brainstorm/write high, edit sober" should come as an instruction manual to anybody dabbling in stimulants and artistic endeavors.

This is like something Grant Morrison would fire off while blasted out of his mind.

In fact I wouldn't be surprised if this is literally The Multiversity #3.
