Tiny pancakes? Those are pretty much crumpets, thanks.

Adorable, but isn't the shape of their shells ("pyramiding") indicative of malnutrition? That part tainted my enjoyment a little bit. I still loved the "rubbing his face in it" vs. "...nope. running away!"

I hadn't seen this one, thanks for sharing!

What sort of sick person feeds pancakes to a tortoise with no syrup?

my boss: okay, we need that check ready by ... what are you watching?
me: it's a tiny turtle eating tiny pancakes
my boss: omg
[turtle watching interlude]
my boss: look, there's another one with hamsters!
me: he's holding the tiny pancake in his little pink toes!

Apparently pyramiding is a strange and mysterious phenomenon with a huge variety of causes, including trying to feed the tortoise too much and insufficient humidity in the air.

Honestly, this makes me think that like so many tiny cute things up to and including cats they are not actually cute, just tiny. Seriously, look at their beaky jaws! and scaly feet! And imagine them trampling Tokyo. Not so cute now, huh?

They would probably eat us if they were big enough, not unlike cats would.

... I must make Nugget some tiny pancakes
Watching him eat things was cuter when he was a puppy though, now it's just like watching a boar feeding at a trough

That's right, give the slobbery dog food that's got so much water in it, it's actually named for it. Yuck.

Ok, now I want a plate filled with hundreds of tiny pancakes. Is there a term for this? The hundreds of tiny pancakes with yummy edges. Not a medical term for the wanting of them. Because that would be "GIVE THEM TO ME NOW". I would also like a side of "Non Seminoma Critter to Watch Me Eat Them"

I believe the technical term is 'yes, please.'

(Small pancakes are often referred to as silver dollars. Or if you're going Eastern European, bliny.)

Tortoises are better than people. Fact.

I have no idea what you're talking about,

so here's a 2001 post about a rabbit with a pancake on his head.

three hours and 16 comments and I'm the FIRST to mention Oolong, one-time candidate for MetaFilter Mascot and inspiration for the "bunnies" of a spin-off site? Learn your MeFi History, people! Other Rabbit/Tortoise controversy.

Best enjoyed in a small theater on a satellite with two robots.

Also, no one has asked anyone to confirm that these pancakes display any kind of shaking motion.
