Costas I agree with you about the BBC article being interesting, I didn't post a link to it, as I thought something similar was discussed previously on MetaFilter. If it wasn't, I am surprised it hasn't come up before now.
Perhaps a moment of simplicity will make a nice interlude for someone, amongst all the heavier stuff.

Agreed Tarrama... I just think the BBC piece is more thought provoking considering MeFi's audience. Still a good link.

Patience isn't one of my virtues, but I have never suffered from web rage. I have felt but managed to contain feelings of road rage and especially supermarket rage as I hate waiting in queues.
But getting angry when surfing seems pointless, when with the click of a button you can be elsewhere. Now if I can just find a way to do that in my car...

One frustrated IT manager admitted to smashing up his £2,500 laptop after a web page failed to recognise his personal details after six attempts.
1) I doubt it was his laptop
2) Can someone explain to him that the internet isn't on his laptop and breaking it isn't going to get his personal details working any better - and this guys a IT manager!?
most of the time the pages are dumb and only doing what they're told - instead of getting angry with the page and plonking *rage in front of anything that fraustrats them why dont they look at whats really causing the trouble - their incompetence

The BBC article is much more interesting, IMHO.
Simplicity isn't meant to be interesting, it's meant to be simple. Despite the commercial tie-in, it was nice to just take a thirty-second ride on a London subway. I suppose someone who has to ride the subway every day to commute during rush hour might feel otherwise.
