Crowe's been ever present on British TV for the past week or two. After seeing him a few times I thought he was a bit of a pretentious prick, nice to see it confirmed. Would be nice to see an interviewer pick him up on some of the nonsense he's been spouting in an attempt to be seen as an 'Accttoorrrr'. Looks good but not so deep.

I was watching clips from the show and they showed Crowe's reaction when the best actor who won last year, for Billy Elliot, made a comment that Crowe stood a better chance of winning this year because he wasn't nominated. Crowe gave the kid one of the dirtiest looks I've ever seen. He then said later that he was going to have a long talk with the kid.

Crowe is continually preened and told how fabulous he is. He's winning awards and accolades left and right, he's being groomed to be the bad boy heir apparent to luminaries like Marlon Brando, and he even gets bookings for his gawdawful band, just because it's his. So is it any surprise that he believes his own hype, and acts like a primadonna?

He felt slighted, and he went off on someone because of it. It happens every day, perhaps not with one party being slammed against the wall, but it happens. And we don't hear about it until someone is a two-time Oscar nominee, three time BAFTA nominee, box office champion. C'est la vie. It's not the first time it's happened -- not the first time Crowe's done it, even. And we can be assured that certainly won't be the last such incident either.

And thoughI don't agree with his methods, I'll go out on a limb and say that I think Crowe had ever reason to be cheesed off that his screen time was cut for another one of these obnoxious "You were good once, let's prop up your aging, sagging, currently undeserved ego" things for Warren Beatty, of all people. Beatty hasn't made a watchable movie in twenty years, and seems more interested in making ludicrous political statements than trying to regain his stature in his chosen field. Why the hell should he get more screen time than someone who actually still demonstrates some talent?

They cut it to save him from himself, I've seen him on TV all week - the bloke is dumb. I'm no big Beatty fan but he's paid his dues and earned the right to run on a little. When you've done what he's done, then you get the right to gush on live TV as do Ian McKellen, Kevin Spacey, Judi Dench, Harvey Keitel, Dustin Hoffmann and Robert Altman who were all far bigger, far more important and far more comfortable with themselves than the aspiring Crowe.

I watched Russell Crowe grimace and snarl all the way through the Oscar's last year. He did the very same thing at this year's Golden Globes, except that he had less of a reason since Steve Martin wasn't provoking it.

But this? Russell Crowe is hardly deserving of the accolades bestowed him, and his pompous attitude regarding it all makes me want to vomit. Perhaps he should have won an award for The Insider, but otherwise he's nothing but a big, old, angry hack.

Just because you read it on the internet or in an "entertainment trade paper" doesn't mean it's true.

This story broke in the Sun, which is an immoral, sensationalist, tabloid rag, but happens to be pretty thorough with its facts when stating them as truth rather than rumour. Libel laws are such in the UK that you really can't get away with making stuff up. The fact that a good number of other national papers also picked the story up also suggests it's true.

So Russell Crowe is a violent, tempestuous jerk. We knew that. He's also been surrounded 24/7 for more than a year because of the kidnapping threat, which would make me likely to shove someone against a wall, too. He's an amazing actor; I'm just glad I don't know him in real life.

He was a violent tempestuous jerk before he was famous, though, swerve. And I personally think he's lost it professionally since he started getting attention. He was a total ham in Gladiator, and although I haven't seen A Beautiful Mind, it looks from the trailers like he hams it up good and proper in that as well. Plus he's ugly.

Plus he's ugly

I don't know how relevant that is, but I like it!

Crowe has never struck me as a briliant actor, but he may possibly have a more convincing American accent than Mel Gibson in that We Were Soldiers rigamarole.

To quote DeJesus: "That shit is laughable, man!"

" ' He then said later that he was going to have a long talk with the kid. ' "

What a saw loser. You can imagine how that went. One arm out blocking Jamie Bells (Billy Elliots) exit in some dingy breeze block corridor with a blinking light, while his brutish, heavy jawed, no necked entourage stand around looking ever so menacing.

Crowe, go back to riding naked bare back on a horse, and stop being a threatening bully.
I tried looking for a link on imdb regarding the naked horse riding but couldnt find - but i have seen it

I don't know how other people dream of fame or of being an actor or what aspect of all that appeals to them, but for me, having soooo many lips gently suctioning my buttocks on a daily basis as such a dipshit attitude like Mr. Crowe's must require sounds pretty good. I see Melanie Griffith or James Wooods or just about any of these inflatable toys struggle through even just basic conversation and I think to myself: "All the thorazine in the world couldn't get me that unaware. THESE PEOPLE ARE MY BETTERS."
Corky from 'Life Goes On' didn't have bliss like this.
I want to be famous. Stupid famous. Hey, we'd better give him the round safety scissors just to be surefamous.
